Healthy Snack Tips: Eat Energy Rich Snacks @ Reward Me

High Energy Food & Snacks For All Day Endurance!

It is not just day care kids that need a snack. To have the endurance to stay active all day, you too need to fill up your body's nourishment depots by eating something light between meals. Then it is good to choose a snack that gives long-term energy. Here come some tips for the best snacks!

Many women avoid all sorts of nuts, because they contain lots of fat. But there are good fats and bad fats – walnuts for example contain large amounts of the polyunsaturated fatty acid omega-3 and almonds contain healthy monounsaturated fat. Brazil nuts are a great source of selenium, whereas almonds, cashew nuts, pistachio nuts and hazel nuts are rich in iron.

Dried fruit and seeds
Many granola bars contain lots of added sugar. Instead, go for sunflower seeds (which are rich in omega-6), dried apricots (without sulfite), raisins or various nut and berry mixes, which contain much iron and calcium and give slow energy.

Dark chocolate or licorice
A few squares of dark chocolate (with high cocoa content) and licorice are good if you need to get extra iron. Dark chocolate also contains antioxidants.

In ripe bananas, a large proportion of the starch has been converted to sugar, which makes them easier to digest. Eat a banana together with a handful of nuts for more lasting energy.

Oats have a cholesterol-lowering effect and is high in fiber, vitamins B, vitamin E, iron and zinc. Dry biscuits and hardtack give long-lasting energy. In stead of regular butter you can try to spread almond butter, which contains much monounsaturated fat and vitamin E.

Cucumber gives moisture and is good for muscles, skeleton and other body tissues.

Apple is a good source of energy and additionally it aids digestion.

Tips to stop snacking!
1. Skip sweets. Sure you can indulge yourself with something extra sometimes, but if your pantry is stuffed full of candy and cookies it is so easy for something to sneak down into you each time you walk past.

2. Have something to occupy your hands with. If you always use to eat popcorn when you watch a movie, make sure you are holding a water bottle instead. .

3. Keep yourself busy. Have a cross-word puzzle handy in the kitchen to avoid that you snack when you prepare the children's snacks-. If you are on your way with the children to some activity, it can help to play a little wordfeud if you get an acute yearning for coffee with sweets.
