INGRÉDIENTS (pour 4 gourmands)

  1. 100g cane sugar
  2. 2 lemons (for the juice and to garnish)
  3. 5 limes (for the juice and to garnish)
  4. 120ml of lemon and lime juice (made from a blend of 1 lemon and 3 limes)
  5. 500ml water
  6. 1 green apple
  7. 4 springs for mint
  8. A bowl or jug
  9. 4 small mason jars (normal glasses will also do)
  10. A fluorescent liquid chalk highlighter
  11. 4 straws

1. We're not sure why a sugar-laden fizzy drink would even be called 'lemonade' – it's unhealthy, bad for your teeth and there's nary a lemon in it.

2. To make four glasses of this fabulous lemon punch, you will need the following:

3. Wash the lemons and limes and then squeeze the juice of one lemon and three limes. You can do it by hand but using a citrus press or juicing machine will extract more from the fruit.

4. Next, pour the juice into a bowl or jug and stir in the sugar until it dissolves.

5. Then, core and thinly slice the apple, along with the lemon and two limes. Be sure to remove any pips or seeds.

6. Use the chalk highlighter to decorate the glasses. Be as creative as you like. You could draw some flowers, some lemons or you could simply write 'lemonade'. Or if you're serving it at a children's party, why not write the name of each guest

7. Put some fruit slices in a glass and then fill with one part lemon & lime syrup and two parts water.

8. Garnish with a few mint leaves and a colourful straw.

9. Add a couple of ice cubes if you want your lemonade to be extra chilled otherwise enjoy!
