8 Tips to Make Body Waxing For Men Easier

8 Essential Tips To Make Body Waxing A Better Experience For Men

Body waxing can leave you with smooth, hairless skin that looks great especially if you love to show off your bod. It also helps if you have excessive hair growth by making you feel groomed and confident. So how does one go about with it?

Body waxing for men is gaining more popularity these days. From doing off with the chest hair to the back hair to the hair covering the limbs and the bikini line, men are more comfortable going hair-less. You could opt for waxing or if the hair really bothers you, laser treatment is a long-term solution.

If you want to start by waxing and get a feel for skin that breathes easy without the fur, you must consider the pros and cons. Men’s waxing can be painful though its effects last longer than say, shaving. The hair that grows back is finer especially if you wax regularly. Hot wax is always preferable to cold wax as it is easier to strip off the hair and it’s effective on short hair. You must be careful not to make it too hot to avoid scalding your skin, and applying and pulling off the wax in the right direction to avoid ingrown hair.

There are a couple of things that you could do to make body waxing for men a better experience.

Top 8 Tips to Make Body Waxing for Men Easier

  1. The day before you wax, use an exfoliator to scrub the skin free of dead cells. But do this at least 24 hours before you get a wax or 24 hours after your wax.
  2. Wax should not be applied on skin that is wet, sweaty or covered with any body lotion or creams. Always make sure you wash and dry the area to be waxed and dust some talc over the area.
  3. If you are really hairy, you can first trim the hair but to wax you need hair that is at least a centimeter long so that you can pull it off easily. A product like All Purpose Gillette Styler: Trimmer, Shaver & Edger trimmer can be used.
  4. The warm wax should be applied in the direction of hair growth and should be peeled off in one quick move in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  5. After you finish waxing, you can use a cool, wet cloth to wipe off the sticky remnants of wax. Most salons use a salon astringent or aloe Vera gel to cool and calm the skin, or if the area tends to get sweaty, talc is dusted lightly over it.
  6. If you find this a messy affair, there is always the option of pre-made wax strips. It can be warmed by rubbing it with your hand.
  7. If you are at a salon, make sure that they use disposable strips to remove the hair – most salons do. It is far more hygienic than cloth strips that reused.
  8. You will have to wax every four to six weeks depending on how quickly your hair grows back. The pain will ease once you start doing it regularly.

These are just a few men’s waxing tips. The great thing about waxing is that some types of wax can also remove tan and dead skin cells, leaving your skin looking cleaner and clearer.
