Sorting clothes the right way has its benefits. Here’s how you go about it.
Laundry days can be more hectic than normal days but to make them easier, all you have to do is involve yourself in a little sorting. Sorting your clothes properly not only makes your work easier but also treats your clothes better while they are being washed.Sorting by colour
You should wash your lights, darks and coloured clothes separately unless you want your clothes coming out a different colour than what they were when you put them in. Dark colours and coloured clothes have a tendency to run colours and your lighter clothes may just absorb them and change their colour ever so slightly. Dyes tend to transfer off clothes on the first few washes due to the method of dye application. Lengthy direct contact of damp clothes or a high concentration of dyes in very little water is another reason why clothes may change their colours. Sorting your clothes will allow you to avoid any of these problems.Sorting by type
Sorting by type isn’t really hard. All you have to do is separate linens, clothing and delicates. After all, washing your heavy towels in the same load as your new beaded top might not be the brightest idea. Check all your new clothes for any washing restrictions like temperature, and keep your linen and towels for last so they don’t come in the way of your washing schedule.
