How To Remove Food & Drink Stains From Clothes
Last night’s dinner was great. But, did your clothes get a taste of it too? Don’t worry. Our tips for removing food and drink stains will soon help you wash those marks clean away.
Quick tip: soak your garment in Ariel solution for 10-15 minutes before washing. Longer if the stain is particularly difficult. On more delicate fabrics such as linens and silks, dab a mild or neutral soap on lightly.
1. Baby food
Whether it’s on your clothes or your baby’s try to soak it in warm solution containing Ariel for at least two hours then wash as the care label instructs.
Dab with a solution that’s one-part vinegar to four-parts water and rinse thoroughly before washing as usual according to the care label.
Don’t be alarmed by the purple colour – it will come out. Soak in cold water for an hour, then wash with Ariel.
4. Butter/cooking oil/grease /margarine
Soak the stain in warm solution contain Ariel for an hour. Then wash as normal at the hottest temperature indicated on the care label.
5. Chewing gum
Chewing gum is easier to remove when it’s hard, so place the affected item into a bag in the freezer, or put ice onto the gum. Once it’s hardened, you’ll find it breaks off quite easily. Then use Ariel to wash as normal. Also, check out how to remove makeup stains from your clothes.
6. Coffee and tea
Soak the stain in cold water for an hour and wash with Ariel detergent. Then make yourself another cup.
7. Desserts – including chocolate/ice cream/jam
If you accidentally missed your mouth, soak your clothes in warm water containing Ariel and then wash as normal.

9. Mayonnaise and milk
Soak in warm water containing Ariel, then wash according to the fabric care label.
10. Spices – including chili/curry/mustard
Soak in warm water containing Ariel solution, then wash according to the fabric care label.
Soak for one hour in cold water. Then wash as normal in Ariel detergent and according to the fabric care label.
Red wine can leave a visible stain, not to mention the smell. Try soaking in cold water before washing with Ariel powder.
