Quick & Easy Pear Pie Recipe

Follow these recipes for delicious fruit pie desserts, filled with amazing fruits like apple and peach! These recipes make a great dessert for Mother's Day

Ingredients (serves 6 people)

  • 1 double crust pie shell
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) ground cloves
  • 8 firm Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) unsalted butter, cut into small bits
  • Glaze for Top Shell
    1 tablespoon (15 mL) milk
    1 tablespoon (15 mL) sugar
    1 tablespoon (15 mL) unsalted butter, melted

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C)

  2. In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cinnamon and cloves. Add the pears and toss to coat

  3. Transfer the pear filling to the pie pan and arrange the slices so there are no gaps. Dot the pears with the butter

  4. Cover the pie with the top crust and press all around the edge to seal

  5. In a bowl, mix the milk, sugar and butter, and brush this glaze over the pie

  6. With a small knife, make 5 evenly spaced slits in the top crust

  7. Bake the pie for 1 hour and 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden. Let the pie cool on a rack and serve
