The Best Tiramisu ever – and So Easy To Make

Tiramisu is one of those desserts you could never go wrong with, whether you are an expert baker or not. What makes this recipe really good is that it gets even better as it sits in the refrigerator.

Number of Ingredients: 6 (7, if one chooses to use eggs)

  • 3 egg yolks (optional)
  • 500 gm Mascarpone cheese
  • 3 tbsp castor sugar
  • 400 ml espresso, room temperature
  • 250 gm Savoiardi biscuits
  • 6 tbsp Amaretto liqueur
  • 80 gm dark chocolate shavings

  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix mascarpone, castor sugar and the egg yolks with an electric beater or by hand till peaks are formed.  Set aside.
  • Take a flat dish, mix the coffee and Amaretto.  Dip half of the Savoiardi biscuits into this mix and arrange in a serving dish.  Spread half of the cheese and sugar mixture evenly over the biscuits.  Dip the remaining biscuits in the coffee mixture and make another layer.  Finish off with the rest of the Mascarpone and sugar mix.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. 
  • Sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings before serving.


You can use a pound cake if you can’t find Savoiardi biscuits.  Amaretto can be replaced with Kahlua.
