INGRÉDIENTS (pour 6 gourmands)

  1. The French talk about frangipane - basically even parts butter and almonds which are mixed into a delicious, smooth paste.
  2. 1x400g roll short crust pastry
  3. 200g butter
  4. 200g (385ml) icing sugar
  5. 4 eggs
  6. 200g ground almonds
  7. 40g cake flour
  8. 3 apples, cores removed and quartered


1. Heat oven to 180ºC. Use a cake pin and roll short crust pastry out to about 3mm thick on a flour-sprinkled surface. Line a loose-based cake pan of 30cm, sprayed with nonstick food spray, with the pastry.

2. Whisk butter and icing sugar till light and creamy in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add eggs one by one and mix well. Add almonds and flour. Mi well.

3. Pour the entire mixture in the tart crust. Place apple slices on top and place in warm oven. Bake for 45-60 minutes or till golden brown and cooked. Serve warm.
