Raffia Covered Vases

Raffia Covered Vases

Follow these 5 steps to cover simple vases with raffia for a tropical feel.

Materials
Smooth surface vases, any material
Large spool 3/16-inch raffia (natural color)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors

Instructions

  1. Snip any frayed edges off of the tip of the raffia. The hot glue will stop the raffia from fraying again once it is stuck to the vase

  2. Place a dot of hot glue on the top edge of the vase and press the end of the raffia onto it. This will be your starting point for covering the vase

  3. Continuing from the starting point, apply hot glue in a 2- to 4-inch line around the edge of the vase and press the raffia on top of it. Continue gluing and wrapping the raffia around the vase until you reach the bottom
