  • 4th – 9th rnds: cont in the same way as given for the 2nd and 3rd rnds, working 1 dc, 1ch in all sps of previous rnd, except at corners, working [1 dc, 1 ch] twice into sp.
  • 10th rnd: join in contrast coloured strip and complete rnd in the same patt as set.  Fasten off last st to the beg of the rnd with a sl st.

Work a length of 8 ch sts, join to the edge of one corner with a sl st so that it forms a hanging loop. Darn in all the ends at the back of the work, weaving them through the back of the stitch. It may be necessary to use a smaller crochet hook when darning in these ends.

Making fabric strips

Cut strips of T-shirt fabric approximately 2cm wide. If you vary the widths it will add more texture to your project. Don’t reject fabric if you don’t like the print as it will take on a different character once it is crocheted.
