Summer Face Packs To Soothe Skin Naturally

Cucumber

Cucumber is one ingredient that has been used in facial treatments for decades. It is great for soothing flushed skin, while providing hydration at the same time.
Directions:
Step 1: Thinly slice a cucumber and get your kids to take turns at arranging the slices on your face as well their own. Remind them to keep their eyes closed before placing the cucumber over their eyelids.
Step 2:Leave on for about ten minutes before rinsing off with cool water.

Aloe vera

This plant is rich in enzymes, amino acids and Vitamins A, B, C and F and will refresh, hydrate and soothe irritated or sunburnt skin.
To Make:
Step 1: Mix about four tablespoons of aloe vera flesh with two tablespoons of plain yogurt to form a paste. The yogurt’s lactic acid will help dislodge dirt and dead skin cells for a deep cleanse, while the aloe will calm your skin down.
Step 2: Apply a thick layer to the face and neck
Step 3: Rinse off after about 10 to 15 minutes.

Avocado

This nutrient-dense fruit is an ideal ingredient for restoring balance and moisture to skin that has been parched by the summer heat.
To make:
Step 1: Mash half an avocado with two tablespoons of honey
Step 2: Apply this mixture on your face for about ten minutes, then rinse off.
For the best result, chill the avocado first to give your skin a refreshing, much-needed boost.

Mint and turmeric

If heat is causing your skin to breakout, consider using turmeric. This Ayurvedic ingredient is known for its antibacterial properties and will counter pimple-causing bacteria. Combined with mint, which gives your skin an instant perk-me-up, this is a great mask for hot summer days.
To make:
Step 1: Blend a handful of fresh mint leaves with about 50ml of water to form a fine paste
Step 2: Mix in one teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Step 3: After leaving it on your face for about 10 to 15 minutes, you may want to wash your skin with a mild soap cleanser to remove any lingering turmeric smells.
If you have any leftover mint leaves, toss them into a glass of cold water and add some honey and fresh lime or lemon juice for a refreshing summer spritzer!
