5 Baking Soda Masks to Zap Out Blackheads

5 Baking Soda Masks to Zap Out Blackheads

After all the expensive and time-consuming blackheads treatments, here’s one that actually works! And it isn’t expensive at all!

Just as it works wonders in your recipes, baking soda works wonders for blackheads. In fact, women around the world rely upon baking soda for blackheads as a treatment to help arrest and even prevent future occurrences.

Baking soda has antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which make it a perfect remedy for most skin problems. As an exfoliator, it unclogs pores leaving skin soft and smooth. It neutralizes skin pH level which makes it produce less oil; this completely prevents blackheads. And since it has no harsh chemicals, you are spared of any side effects.

By adding some easily available ingredients to it, you can increase baking soda’s efficacy.

These 5 baking soda masks are your answer to great looking skin that’s smooth and blackheads free.

1. Baking Soda with Water

  1. Wash your face with warm water; this will open the pores.
  2. Next, apply a thin paste of 1 teaspoon of baking soda with a little water and leave for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Now massage your face in gentle circles to loosen the dead skin cells, blackheads, dirt and impurities.
  4. Rinse again with warm water.

2. Baking Soda with Lemon

  1. Make an even blend of 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of granulated brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of lemon juice.
  2. Apply by massaging gently on the affected areas.
  3. Rinse your face with lukewarm water after 10-15 minutes.

Lemon has natural acids which deep cleanse oily skin and remove impurities from within, which increases skin’s resistance to breakouts.

3. Baking Soda with Sugar

  1. Make a rough mix of 1 tablespoon each of baking soda and granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of water.
  2. Gently massage this onto wet skin, leave for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Rinse off with warm water.

  2. Wash this off after 10 minutes.
  3. This combination dry out skin’s oiliness and unclogs pores by removing the dead cells, grime and other impurities.

5. Baking Soda with Milk

  1. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1/4 cup of milk and apply using a cotton ball.
  2. After 5 minutes, rinse with water.

The lactic acid in milk clears pores and works as a light exfoliator.

Things to keep in mind

Baking soda hates blackheads as much as you do. But always try a patch test first. If you feel any irritation, discontinue immediately.

Avoid applying these treatments on burst pimples or open wounds. Consult your dermatologist if you have any allergies.

Use these treatments only for a short period as excessive application of baking soda or salt can irritate or dry the skin. Supplement these masks with Olay skincare products for better results.
