Eyebrow Tips That Raise The Curve

Get The Perfect Eyebrow Shapes According To Your Face

So what’s the big fuss over eyebrows? At the outset, they protect our eyes. Secondly, they are a very important part of our facial expressions and go a long way in perfecting our look. Maintaining good eyebrow care is not that difficult but can lead to disastrous results if not done properly.

Whether natural and thick or neat and thin - eyebrows render a polished look if you shape eyebrows according to face shape.

Here are some tips to get perfect eyebrows.

First and foremost, pick your look: Just as some people have different skin types, there are also different eyebrow shapes that suit certain kinds of faces. For example,

  • 'Soft angled eyebrow' is perfect for an oval face
  • 'Rounded brows' perfectly suit a heart shaped face
  • 'Flat eyebrow’ compliments a long face
  • A high arched brow perfectly suits a round face
  • Sharp or curved angle brows work best  for a square or a diamond shaped face

So, before you pick up the tweezers, decide on the eyebrow shape basis the shape of your face.

Wash up and pat dry: Wash your face thoroughly with cold water. Go in for deep cleansing to open up the pores of your skin. Avoid using too much of cleanser and scrub near the eyebrows as the beads of exfoliant or the cleanser may tend to get stuck in that region. After the face wash ritual, pat your face dry with a soft towel. Do not rub rigorously in and around the eyebrow area as you may end up pulling out a strand or two of its hair.

Soak: Apply a soft, clean clothsoaked  in warm water to your eyebrow. Sit back and relax for a minute or two as the soft cloth will render tweezing easy and less painful.

Moisturise and ready to tweeze: Apply a gentle moisturizer around the eye brow area and clean with a cotton swab so as to not let any of the lotion deposit within the hair growth. Keep your instruments at hand; these will include an angled-tip tweezer, a pointed-tip tweezer, a mirror (preferably a magnifying one), good lighting and an eyebrow comb.

Tweezing: Always remember, eyebrows should stay thicker at the side closest to the nose and gradually thin towards the end.Keep tweezing until you have the arch and the look you want. Remember, over-tweezing can lead to bald spots, thin spots, or uneven brows. Take little breaks after tweezing a bit to make sure you are not on the verge of overdoing it! Soothe: After tweezing, rinse and dry your tweezers thoroughly. Wash your face and pat dry with a clean cloth. Dab some moisturizer with a cotton swab around your brows to soothe the skin that might be irritated.

Maintain: Set aside ten to fifteen minutes to maintain your brows every fortnight. You will seeunwanted hair in the meantime, so feel free to tweeze them regularly. You will require a re-shaping at least every three months to help keep your eyebrow shape.
