1. Wash your hair frequently
Shampoo daily to get rid of any dirt or pollutants that may have accumulated in your hair. Use a gentle shampoo that is suitable for frequent use so you don’t strip your strands of their natural protective oils as well. For the best results, look out for ‘clarifying’ or ‘anti-pollution’ shampoo formulas that you can use once or twice a week to deep-cleanse your hair.
2. Don’t forget your scalp
Healthy hair starts from the roots, so do not neglect your scalp when you wash your hair – use your fingertips to gently massage your scalp while shampooing. This will stimulate blood circulation, unclog pores and dislodge grime and styling products that may cause dandruff and itching.

Try not to repeatedly undergo chemical treatments, such as perms, dyes and bleaching, as this will weaken your hair and cause it to be even more susceptible to damage from air pollution. Avoid using too many styling products, such as hair oils, gels or sprays, as dust and other pollutants will stick to your hair more easily.
