3 Classy French Twist Hairstyles That’ll Change The Way You Look

3 Classy Twist Hairstyles You Can Sport Anywhere!

Twist hairstyles have a certain elegance and sophistication to them. The best part is, you can work with any length of hair – from medium to long.

French women are the epitome of class and have the ability to turn something simple into a unique work of art. The Twist hairstyle is one of them. It’s simplicity in appearance as well as in putting it together is what makes it a universal favourite, apart from the fact that it makes the wearer look uber stylish and trendy.

3 Twisted Hairstyles You Can Try at Home

#1 The Twisted Bun

  1. Coat the mid-lengths and ends of thoroughly dried hair with a volumising mousse and brush through.
  2. Twist the front side section of your hair and bring it around the nape of your neck and secure with a pin. Do the same with the other side.
  3. Remove the pins and tie the twisted ends and the rest of your hair together into a low ponytail.
  4. At the V section where the twists connect, create a gap in the hair behind the tie. Pick up the end of the pony, tuck it into this hole and adjust the hair to cover up any visible bits of the hair band.
  5. Once again, bring up the ponytail to the V section and tuck in tightly. Keep tucking in till it forms a neat bun and there are no stray hairs. Secure this tightly by pushing in bobby pins from an upward angle, adjusting them so that they aren’t seen. 1. Separate your hair at the crown and using a fine-tooth comb, slowly comb it towards your scalp teasing the hair.
  2. Pat the hair to cover the teasing and secure on the crown by inserting a few bobby pins horizontally.
  3. Bring a section of hair in front of one ear and twist it toward the back bringing it on top of the inserted pins to hide them. Secure with another pin and repeat on the other side.
  4. Make sure that no pins are visible and adjust the twists accordingly. Hold in place with a finishing hair spray.

#3 French Twist for Short Hair

  1. Lightly backcomb the underside of your hair to build volume.
  2. Make a deep parting and sweep your hair to one side behind your head. Before you reach the centre, insert a bobby pin vertically and flat against your head to secure the hair.
  3. Do this with the other side. Let the hair meet the first bobby pin. Smoothen the two parts without forming a bun and try to maintain the length as you mould it into a French twist.
  4. Continue to smooth the section over as you roll it in towards the centre by starting at the top and gradually going down towards your nape. Do not worry if a few pieces stray, they can be pinned back into place.
  5. Hold the hair with one hand and insert bobby pins up the length of your twist. Starting from the bottom will help you catch the stray shorter pieces that slip out.
  6. Add as many pins till your French twist feels secure.
